Enrico Carlini: Waring Problem for forms

From the classical Waring problem in number theory we will move to the Waring problem for homogenous polynomials. We will explore the algebra and the beautiful geometric interpretations of this problem: Veronese varieties, fat points, and  tangent spaces are some of the main characters. I will introduce to you the main results in the field and the (many) open problems.
