Magnus Carlson: The factorial function (!)

In this talk I will speak about an alternative construction of the factorial function and a natural generalization by Bhargava which allows one to speak about a factorial function associated to any subset S of the integers. This generalization quickly leads to beautiful results, and we will see some of them. In the end, we'll discuss some related unsolved problems.
