As a researcher in statistics you want to make your work available to the statistical community. Going through the process of getting a paper published in a peer-reviewed journal is interesting and fun, but it can also be tedious and sometimes even painful. The most important factor to get a research paper published is the scientific quality of the paper. But other than that, what can you do to improve on your success rate? I will discuss the peer-review process, the way scientific journals operate, and try to give advice on good writing. Hopefully we can share experiences of different roles in the peer-review process, such as being the editor, reviewer or author.
