Christoph Neuner: A Converse of Banach's Fixed Point Theorem

In a complete nonempty metric space every contraction has a unique fixed point. Conversely, it turns out that a self-map on a nonempty set having a unique fixed point implies that there is a complete metric such that this selfmap is a contraction. I will talk about this theorem due to Bessaga and some related results.
