Björn Engquist: Numerical Homogenization

We will give an overview of computational techniques for homogenization. This will include the obvious numerical approximation of known asymptotic homogenization formulas. Other approaches are projection generated homogenized operators and numerical multiscale methods. For the latter the homogenized solution is the target without deriving the effective operator. Both theoretical and applied aspects will be discussed.
