Classical dynamics studies the family of iterates of a
rational function over the complex numbers. Non-archimedean dynamics
studies the same questions, over a non-archimedean field. I will
define attracting and repelling cycles, affinoid domains, and the
Fatou and Julia sets of a rational function; then I will introduce
about affinoid components of the Fatou set, local linearization around
a fixed point, and bounding the number of attracting cycles. This talk
is a general survey, with few proofs. I am not going to assume
knowledge of classical dynamics, and when generalizing a result that
holds over the complex numbers, I will indicate what the classical
analog is
