Hélène Esnault: Lefschetz theorems in Arithmetic Geometry

We survey the existing Lefschetz theorems in presence of ramification for connections, for lisse l-adic sheaves and for F-overconvergent isocrystals. We shall motivate those theorems by Deligne's finiteness theorem and Drinfeld's companions over a finite field.
