Eligibility

General eligibility
The following is required for the Master's programme: A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher learning, corresponding to at least 180 credits in the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS), or equivalent academic qualifications from an internationally recognised university.
You may still apply if you have not yet obtained your bachelor's degree but you will be awarded the degree by the beginning of the fall semester.
Specific prerequisites
In addition to the general eligibility you should have at least 90 university credits in mathematics or strongly mathematics-related subjects and the documented qualification of the following two courses
Foundation of mathematical analysis, MM5021/SF1677
Groups and rings/Abstract Algebra MM5020/SF1678
Or equivalent to the books "Principles of mathematical analysis" by W. Rudin
and "Abstract Algebra", 3rd Edition by D.S. Dummit and R.M. Foote.

English Proficiency
Likewise, the programme also requires sufficient command of English equivalent to Course English 6 from Swedish Upper Secondary School. In general cases, proficiency in English must be demonstrated in one of the following ways
- IELTS score (Academic) of 6.5 or more (with no section scoring below 5.5)
- TOEFL score of 575 or more (internet based 90) (All TOEFL tests must be sent directly from Educational Testing Service. The institution code of University Admissions in Sweden is Sweden 9520).
- Cambridge/Oxford - Advanced or Proficiency level
Some students may be exempt from submitting formal test evidence for Course B. Please check the specific requirements for your country of study .
