Björn Winckler: Mathematics in biology

In this talk I will present one of the projects that I am involved in at
Karolinska Institutet which aims to find associations between microbiota and
human health.  I will talk about next-generation sequencing, what kind of data
it produces, what information we typically hope to extract from it, and what
areas of mathematics can be employed to analyze such data. The presentation is
aimed at anybody who is curious to learn more about how mathematics can be used
in biology.
