Abstract: I will talk about some basic concepts in numerical semigroup theory and mention some open questions. The theory of numerical semigroups is parallel to the theory of semigroup rings \(k[t^{n_1},\ldots,t^{n_k}]\), but the connection between semigroups and rings is much wider.
