Louis Yudowitz: Overview of a proof of the Index Theorem using stochastic calculus

I will give a very general overview of a probabilistic version (originally due to Bismut) of the heat kernel proof of the Index Theorem. Particular emphasis will be placed on explaining the stochastic analogues of the classical geometric and topological objects from the original heat kernel proof of the Index Theorem.
