Kurt Johansson: Planar Coulomb gases and Loewner energy

Abstract:

The asymptotics of the partition function of a planar Coulomb gas confined to a Jordan curve in the complex plane is related to the Loewner energy of that curve. I will discuss this connection and extensions to the case of a Jordan arc. Based on joint work with Klara Courteaut and Fredrik Viklund.
