Erik Nilsson: Cut finite element methods via exterior calculus

Abstract:

We give an introduction to exterior calculus as a language and framework for investigating finite element methods. In particular, we apply this framework to study from a new perspective the fundamental ideas of unfitted cut finite element methods.
