A graph consists of vertices and edges between the vertices and can for example be used to describe various types of complex networks. One example of networks that might be interesting to model are social contact structures. The vertices in the graph then represent individuals and the edges represent social relations between the individuals. I will review some of the most common model types for generating graphs with properties that resemble those of real social networks.
