Level set methods have proven to be useful both as a computational as well as analytical tool in many applications that involve interfaces. In this talk, we will review some of the key mathematical ingredients in a typical level set methods. We shall also survey some successful applications. Finally, we will discuss some new development in this area involving singular integrals.
